Pre-Academy Squad
STA’s Pre-Academy Squad is for up-and-coming local players aged between 13 and 18 in the Costa Del Sol area and beyond, who are still in full-time education. We also have Development Squads which begins at the age of 7-13 and leads into our Pre-Academy or Full-time Academy.
Our player`s play up to 12 hours a week as well as 2-3 hours of physical work. Each player will also have their own `lead coach` who will be in charge of their programme. We use the universal 'Mini-Tennis' system for these players, which we firmly believe gives young players the best chance to develop in the correct way.
These players are given the opportunity and encouraged to compete locally in domestic tournaments, as well as introducing them onto the ITF circuit when the time is right.
The squads are run by our expert team of coaches and Strength and Conditioning coaches and these groups link in with the Academy students once a week. As the players in this squad develop, they will have the chance to graduate into the Academy.
